O D0 (planejamento e resposta de emerg\u00eancia) foi adicionado nos anos 1990 ao manual original da Ford, totalizando nove etapas, mas a marca &#8220;8D&#8221; j\u00e1 era reconhecida globalmente em toda cadeia automotiva e setores adjacentes. A maior parte da literatura t\u00e9cnica trata as nove etapas como &#8220;8D&#8221; sem ressalva.<\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"origem-historica-ford-8d\">Como a Ford criou o 8D e por que ele virou padr\u00e3o global?<\/h2>\n<p>A Ford desenvolveu o 8D entre 1986 e 1987 dentro da divis\u00e3o Powertrain, formalizado no manual Team Oriented Problem Solving (TOPS).
